    - Persisting resinous odour
    - Often exported with sapwood removed
    - Frequent defect in logs = ringshakes
    - Another species lesser-known = G. joveri, more reddish and with coarser texture, is exported from Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, and Gabon, as ODUMA.
